I’m an author and journalist interested in financiers, fraudsters, short sellers, shopping malls, cities, corporations and their economic histories. My work exposes how complex financial arrangements are transforming our lives by telling stories about the people and places they shape.
My first book, a narrative investigation of the private equity industry, will be published by Weidenfeld & Nicolson (UK) and Grand Central (US) in 2026, and was awarded the Whiting Creative Nonfiction Grant in 2024. I’m an assistant editor on the Guardian’s opinion pages and regular contributor to the Guardian Long Read. My work has appeared in the UK and internationally, and you can read more about me here.
