I’m an author and journalist interested in financiers, fraudsters, short sellers, shopping malls, cities and economic history. My work exposes how complex financial arrangements are transforming our lives by telling stories about the people and places they shape.
My first book, The Asset Class, is a narrative investigation of the private equity industry. It will be published by Weidenfeld & Nicolson (UK) and Grand Central (US) in 2026 and was awarded the Whiting Creative Nonfiction Grant in 2024. I’m a regular contributor to the Guardian Long Read and an assistant opinion editor at the Guardian. My work has appeared in the UK and internationally, and you can read more about me here.
